I Think My Car’s Battery Is Dying

Drive straight to our shop if you believe your car’s battery is dying. We would be happy to test the battery to see if it is able to retain a charge. If the battery is older than three years old, there is a strong chance that it is dying and can no longer retain a charge. If this is the case, we will remove the old battery and dispose of it. We will then install a new battery into your engine.

Dashboard Warning

One sign that the battery is going bad is a dashboard warning light that refuses to turn off. In this case, your vehicle’s main computer chip will turn on the battery light. This is a sign that there is a problem with the battery or the alternator. If your car is older than three years, it could be the battery. If you have 100,000 miles on the odometer, it could be the alternator.

Lots of Cranking

It can also be a real pain to get your vehicle started if the battery is going bad. The engine will crank and crank several times until it actually ignites. Eventually, the engine will not ignite at all because the battery is dead. This is why we recommend that you head to our shop if you are concerned about the health of your vehicle’s battery. You do not want to end up with a dead battery.

Electrical Problems

If you have noticed strange things with your vehicle’s electrical accessories and components, this, too, can point to a problem with the battery. Specifically, you may have problems with the power seats and windows, the vehicle’s lights, and your entertainment and navigation systems. All of these things may malfunction because the battery is not sending them enough power.

Corroded Battery

If you pop the hood and see that your battery is corroded, it is important to replace it right away because it is leaking battery acid. This acid smells like rotten eggs. Unfortunately, we cannot repair a battery leak. Rather, the entire battery must be replaced.

Warped Case

One thing that can cause the battery to leak is a warped or cracked battery case. This can happen because the case is too old or there is a problem with the chemical reaction inside the battery. In addition to warping or cracking, the case may also bubble.

We are here to help, so bring your vehicle to our shop today if you suspect you need a new battery.
